What are Blackheads?

Blackheads are small bumps that appear on your skin due to clogged hair follicles. They can be both on your face and body, including neck, shoulders, back, arms, and chest.

Blackheads form when a clog or plug develops in the opening of hair follicles in your skin. Each follicle contains one hair and a sebaceous gland that produces oil. This oil, called sebum, helps keep your skin soft. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a bump called a comedo. If theskin over the bump stays closed, the bump is called a whitehead. When the skin over the bump opens, exposure to the air causes it to look black and a blackhead forms.

Because of the dark color of blackheads, they are easy to spot on the skin.

How to Remove Blackheads Effectively Without Damaging Your Skin?

Vaseline Pure Petroleum Jelly

Things You Need:

Vaseline Pure Petroleum Jelly, Two Small Washcloths, Soft Tissue Papers, Clear Plastic or Glad wrap

Step 1.  Wash your face with cleanser, and then apply a thick coat of Vaseline pure petroleum jelly on the blackheads affected area.

Step 2. Cover the area (where you have applied Vaseline) with a piece of clear plastic or glad wrap. Apply hot damp washcloths on the affected area for 5 minutes. It will help make the pores open and soft.

Step 3. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and then wrap a clean soft tissue over each forefinger and gently squeeze the affected skin to remove the blackheads and clean your pores.

Step 4. After squeezing, wash your face with cleanser again to make sure your face clean. Apply Astrenigent on treated area to clean and tighten the pores.

How to Prevent Blackheads?

1. Wash your face properly.

  1. Wash your face in the morning and night to remove oil buildup and dirt on your skin. Make exfoliation weekly to remove the dead skin cells and oils.

2. Use oil-free products

  1. Any product that contains oil can contribute to new blackheads. Choose oil-free makeup, skincare products, and sunscreen to avoid making your problem worse.

3. Do not squeeze blackheads or pick at your skin.

  1. Squeezing and picking can increase inflammation and make your skin more prone to blackheads.
